Nikolas Golick

-QB Warren Lincoln High School (Warren, MI) Sr. class

Golick is a dual-threat qb. He has the athletic ability to move around in the pocket. But he always keeps his eyes down field. He was able to make multiple throws while being under pressure. His sense of knowing when and where pressure was coming from was one of his greatest skills. He’s comfortable while in the pocket as well. He made multiple throws on the sideline. Golick has a good connection with his receivers, they didn’t miss many passes all day. When he did run, he was efficient. He understood letting blocks build and use the sideline as an advantage. He had four touchdowns on the day, two passing and two rushing.

Justin Hardnett

-Rb/Wr/Db Hazel Park High School (Hazel Park, MI) Sr. class

Hardnett showed his athleticism off in Friday’s game (9/27). Early in the game he caught a jail screen coming inside and took it 60 yards for a touchdown. He was patient at letting blocks build, but also had the ability to break tackles. Most plays where Hardnett touched the ball were explosive plays. Being a punt returner adds to his game. He had a 56 yard return to set his offense nicely. At receiver/running back he was able to get a touchdown on the ground as well. On defense he registered three tackles, playing mostly nickel.

Andrew Whitney

-Rt/De Hazel Park High School (Hazel Park, MI) Sr. class

Whitley played well as the right tackle and defensive end. He looked more natural at defensive end. He showed good athleticism on pulls, being able to get around the corner quickly. Whitley maintained good control on most blocks when pass blocking. He was rarely overpowered while blocking. Defensively he was able to use his size to get off blocks, using the push-and-pull move mostly. Whitley had times where he used his hands well. At right tackle he had times where he struggled to finish blocks. Defensively he struggled with not keeping the edge at points of the game.

De’Anthony Matthew Jr

-De/Rb Clintondale High School (Clinton Township, MI) So. class

Matthews is just a sophomore. He showed a lot of positive attributes throughout the game. He worked the rip move effectively on numerous occasions. He showed his speed chasing down plays from the backside. Matthew understands how to see where the ball is going and shed off his block. At defensive end he had reps on both sides of the line. He finished the game with eight tackles, two tfl’s, and one sack. Offensively he had two carries for 17 yards and a touchdown, on a wildcat play. Matthew has a tendency to play with high pad level which hurt him at times in the run game. The lack of motor took him out of some plays.

Ramone Shannon

-Qb/Cb Clintondale High School (Clinton Township, MI) Sr. class

Shannon was the starting quarterback and cornerback. At quarterback he showed his ability to be a dual-threat option. While running the ball and mobility in the pocket. CHS kept the ball in Shannon’s hands running qb designed runs. There were multiple throws he threw away instead of forcing a play. He played fairly well in coverage at cb, not getting targeted many times. He did give up one touchdown on a slant route. Shannon is very fiery. At points of the game when his team made mistakes, you could see him saying something to redirect the team.

Stevonne Wortham

-Wr/CB Warren Woods Towers High School (Warren, MI) Sr. class

Worham played above average in coverage. He had two deflections, one of them was touchdown saving. Lamphere didn’t throw for most of the game, so he didn’t have to cover often. He showed that he was able to play the run as well. He had six tackles on the day with one being a TFL on an outside zone run.

Quincy Twymon Jr.

-(Wr/S) Lamphere High School (Madison Heights, MI) Jr. class

Twymon played as a single high safety as well as a box-safety closer to the LOS. He as well as most of the defensive backs for Lamphere looked well in coverage. He was very patient when dropping back and scanning the field. He was able to pick off a pass in the second half and take it back 20+ yards. He was able to jump the route reading the QB was in trouble. Offensively he had one catch for 31 yards, and one carry for eight yards.

Julius Gerald

-Wr/ILB/PR Lamphere High School (Madison Heights, MI) Sr. class

Gerald caught three of Grzesikowski’s passes for a total of 84 yards, and two touchdowns. All of the passes he caught were on routes that were over 10 yards. He showed his speed being able to “stack” his defenders. On the defensive side of the ball, he raked in eight tackles. He was a solid tackler. He didn’t miss many of his tackles. He was average playing against the run; a lot of his tackles came yards off of the LOS.

Aidan Grzesikowski

-QB/CB Lamphere High School (Madison Heights, MI) Sr. class

Versatility is the best world to explain Grzesikowski. He is the starting quarterback and cornerback. He was responsible for four touchdowns Friday night (9/20). He had two throwing touchdowns, one rushing, and a returned interception. His aggression at corner stood out. He played the run extremely well and made numerous tackles on the sideline. When he was in man coverage, he looked very comfortable. When in coverage tonight, he only gave up two catches. On offense LHS ran the ball often, so he didn’t throw much. Grzesikowski had a good sense of avoiding pressure. For the game he was 4/8, 115 yards and two touchdowns, and four carries for 15 yards. He also added in two deflections. He never appeared tired, he played with a high motor from start to finish.

Demaryus “Moona” Johnson

-Linebacker Fitzgerald High School (Warren, MI) Sr. class

In the first game of Johnson’s senior season, Fitzgerld took a loss, but Moona did play pretty well. He came out in the first half a tad sluggish, but as the game, went on his game picked up. Fitzgearld’s defense was having a hard time stopping Warren Mott’s RPO offense, because of (Michael Kronner). Johnson is a run first linebacker. He played the line-of-scrimmage (LOS) well. He moved very well as a sideline-sideline backer. On numerous occasions throughout the night, he as able to make plays at or behind the LOS. He had a play where he was able to scoop up a fumble recovery after one of his teammates was able to get a sack. He took that back about 25 yards. He ended the game with 11 total tackles and seven solo tackles.

Jaylen “JJ” Maddox

-ATH (Slot/SS) Fitzgerald High School (Warren, MI) Jr. class

Maddox is an explosive athlete. He is the definition of a big play waiting to happen. You were able to see the potential through the night. He wasn’t able to make many big plays tonight (8/29). The Warren Mott defense was able to keep the big-play threat from ruining the game. He had numerous balls thrown at him, being able to catch four of them. This was including one bomb that could’ve been a touchdown, where he was able to get past the defense with ease. He was able to ‘stack’ the safety quickly beating him off of the LOS. That throw was not completed, (bad communications from the receiver to the QB). He was able to make some plays defensively getting a few tackles on the night.

Aidan Moore

-ATH (RB/LB) Salem Rock High School (Canton, MI) Sr. class

Aidan Moore had a monster game for the first game of his senior season. He had 19 touches for 230 total yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Within those 230 yards, he had three catches for 75 yards. Moore showed off all of skills running the ball. He was a tough runner and showed he wouldn’t back down from any contact. On one of his runs, he could’ve possibly outrun his defender but instead he lowered his shoulder and made a big contact that rallied up the crowd. His style of running is very patient. He understands how to let his blocks build. He also has the agility to make quick cuts and make big plays with his speed.

Michael Kronner

-ATH (QB/DB) Warren Mott High School (Warren, MI) Sr. class

Kronner came out ready to play Thursday night (8/30). From the start of the game the RPO was working. His fakes were very good, he understood when to give the ball to the running back and when to take it for himself. His pocket presence was more than above average. He could sense when most pressure was coming, as he knew when to step up in the pocket and when to take off and run. His cadence at the LOS was possibly his best skill all night. He got Fitz’ to jump offsides on multiple occasions. Mott runs a college style offense, where the QB doesn’t go to the sideline to get the play and runs most of it “from-the-line” He didn’t have many bad throws on the day. The very few he had his receivers on the outside were able to make big plays despite of them.

Eric Johnson

(OLB-Edage/TE) Henry Ford II High School (Sterling Heights, MI) Sr. class

Eric Johnson had a few big impact plays throughout the game Friday (8/30). One of the first play’s he was in on defense he set the edge on an outside zone play and made a tackle-for-loss (TFL). He made numerous other tackles through the night. Johnson on offense had one catch for 14 yards. He also made some pretty significant blocks as a tight end as well to open up the run game.
