Top 250 camp
RB, TE, LB session
In the second session the running backs, tight ends faced off against the linebackers in 1 on 1’s. This period was mostly dominated by the offensive players. Most Lb’s played about five yards off.
Standout players (second session)
TE: Josh McCune 2026 class East Grand Rapids Athlete 6’2 215lbs
McCune had possibly the best day for anyone at the camp. He dominated almost everyone who stepped in front of him. Getting it done with power at the top of routes, as well some fluidness in his cutting. He didn’t have any drops on the day.
RB: TyAnthony Lewis 2027 class RB, WR, DB Davison 5’10” 175lbs
Lewis showed his speed in every rep he took. He was crisp in his routes, creating space early. He won most of his reps.
RB: LaDon Hatcher Jr. 2026 class Holt Athlete
Hatcher knew how to get open quickly. His quickness allowed him to beat most of the defenders from off of the line. He also has blazing speed, being able to blow past defenders on multiple occasions.
RB: Garrett Hilborn 2027 class John Glenn RB, OLB
5’ 10” 165lbs
Hilborn was able to get open at ease. Most of his routes were one move and go. Most of the LB’s couldn’t get hands on him.
LB: Javari Funches 2026 class Lansing Everett MLB, RB
6’ 210lbs
Funches had no fear. He was one of the only LB’s who came up on the offensive players and play press coverage. He was very aggressive at the line and played physical until the ball was thrown. At times his aggression could get him beat. He showed he also has make-up speed closing in on the ball.
Cainan Hanbury
-Rb/Lb Athens High School (Troy, MI) Jr. class
Hanbury made plays everywhere on (10/25). He scored four rushing touchdowns, had 2.5 sacks, eight+ tackles, multiple TFL’s, and an interception. He showed the ability to play the run from the outside backer and the inside backer position. As a pass rusher he was able to shed blocks easily, keeping a high motor every snap. Hanbury rushed from both sides of the line, out of the two-point-stance. Hanbury rarely had times where he was pushed out of the play. He never looked tired at any point of the game. In coverage he played above average, he mostly covered the flats when covering from OLB position. At running back he broke tackles, showed his speed, and carried out fakes well. He was an impact player all night.
Anthony Dunlap
-Rb/Lb Athens High School (Troy, MI) Sr. class
Dunlap like his teammate Hanbury made plays everywhere on the field. He looked very natural at inside linebacker. He was a good tackler, not missing many all night. Going sideline-to-sideline was maybe his best skill, along with showing his speed, and understanding how to get through holes to make tackles. Athens make it a point to carry out fakes, which everyone who touched the ball did well. His play recognition/reading opened a lot of tackles for himself.
Rafeal Payne
-Rb/Olb South Lake High School (Saint Clair Shores, MI) Sr. class
Payne ran with speed, quickness, and strength. He showed that he will run you over, lowering his shoulder about three times in the night. He also added in a couple of catches. He was used as the lead back. He never looked tired. At running back, he saw the hole and hit it. He made a few big blocks for his QB in pass protection.
Kenneth Vinson Jr.
-Nickel/Wr/KPR Madison High School (Madison Heights, MI) Sr. class
Vinson Jr. took a while to come alive offensively, but in the second half he started picking up his production. . At nickel, he was aggressive against the run. Getting two TFL’s. He showed that he can shed blocks quickly and the play. He wasn’t thrown at much when being the main defender in the slot. He had five catches for 53 yards.
Nehemiah Patman
-Qb/S Madison High School (Madison Heights, MI) Fr. class
Patman has a lot of good traits for playing his first year of high school ball. He finished 15-20, 215 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Patman knew how to sense pressure and move up in the pocket. Even though he showed he could use his athleticism he didn’t take off running often. He always kept his eyes downfield. He had multiple throws where he was scrambling around and still found someone down field. He had plays where the threw the ball away, rather than trying to force a pass. He did show a lot of promising things. He didn’t always look very comfortable throwing the ball. He was sacked over five times. He had a tendency to hold the ball a tad long when dropping back. He had plays where the threw the ball away, rather than trying to force a pass.
Ladarion Andrews
-De/Wr South Lake High School (Saint Clair Shores, MI) Sr. class
Andrews fared better as a guard. He plays with good hand placement. In pass sets he didn’t give up too much ground. On the defensive side he had two tackles. He served decently when it came to keeping his gap.
Randy Howard Jr.
-Dt/ILb/Rb South Lake High School (Saint Clair Shores, MI) Sr. class
Howard showed his versatility Friday (10/18). He carried the ball over five times, racked up a sack, multiple tackles, a TFL, and had the game-winning pick-six. He looked most comfortable at DT. When South Lake would get in the red zone, he would drop back to ILB. He was able to get his interception when playing LB. At tackle he was physical and wasn’t overpowered much throughout the game. He mostly used two moves: the bull-rush, and the rip. He looked too reliant on his bull-rush/ trying to his strength on pass rushes. Howard Jr.’s had times where working his hand could’ve put him in the play.
Cortez Croff
-De/Wr South Lake High School (Saint Clair Shores, MI) Jr. class
Croff finished the game with 2.5 sacks, two TFL’s, and five+ tackles. He was able to add in a few pressures as well. For him being an undersized defensive end, that didn’t stop him. He was a fast edge rusher, with a very fierce first two steps. He used the over-the-head-swim mostly. When he didn’t use a move, he would beat tackles from them being off-balanced. He was able to rush from both sides, mostly rushing out of a two-point-stance the whole game. The swim move did get him in trouble at times. He was pushed out of the play a few times while trying to use the move.
Lathon Groves’
-ILb/Wr L’Anse Creuse High School (Harrison Township, MI) Jr. class
Groves’ is a solid tackler. At the middle linebacker position, he was able pick up over eight tackles with two of them being TFL’s. He showed understanding how engage and disengage from lineman quickly. On outside runs, he showed off his speed, showing the ability to be sideline-to-sideline.
Jaden Ziegler
-Rt L’Anse Creuse High School (Harrison Township, MI) Jr. class
Ziegler was best when being able to down block. He had multiple runs throughout the day that were sprung open by his down blocks. In pass setting he gave up two sacks but fared well most of the night, (10/11) being able to not give up many pressures outside of that. His footwork is above average. In most of his pass sets he looked comfortable, not being beat off the ball for speed rushes. Mostly worked out of a two-point-stance for the game. Ziegler had moments where he was overpowered, but wasn’t affected by the bull-rush consistently.
Michael Chude
-Dt Roseville High School (Roseville, MI) Sr. class Grand Valey State University commit*
Chude as well as his starting mate Miles Sharp put on a clinic. He was able to control his gap and not be pushed out of it. His raw power and understanding of when to shed blocks made him stand out. He chose to work mostly out of the 4-point-stance. He played with good pad level.
Jordan Simes
-Qb Roseville High School (Roseville, MI) Jr. class Ferris State commit*
Roseville runs a very free and fast offense. They were running plays every eight seconds. They did not give L’Anse Creuse a chance to catch their breathe. Simes was the head of that. Simes didn’t look affected by the up-tempo offense. From the first drive he showed his athletic ability as a dual-threat QB. Roseville ran a lot of RPO which is showing he’s used to playing in a college style of offense. Even with ability to run he didn’t take off often. He always kept his eyes downfield. Roseville had a lot of quick read plays that let their playmakers make big plays.
Miles Sharp
-Dt Roseville High School (Roseville, MI) Jr. class
Miles Sharp played a great game. 2.5 sacks, six+ tackles, he was all over the place. His bull-rush move worked well, he was also able to use the push-and-pull/swim. He very rarely if at all throughout the game was overpowered. Sharp played with great pad level, and really used his first step to beat the offensive lineman off the ball. Roseville ran stunts with Michael Chude, and Sharp. Shape was able to dominate his gap most of the first half.
David Smith
-Rg Center Line High School (Center Line, MI) Sr. class
Centerline won 60-0 so Smith didn’t play long, possibly under 20 snaps in the first half. He played right guard for Center Line. He was a technically sound blocker. He helped well on combo blocks knowing when to disengage and move up to the next defender. Smith showed how athletic he was on pulls, he had great “accuracy” when hitting someone on pulls. He didn’t have any plays that he was overpowered, in run or pass. He was able to get multiple packcakes in his limited play. It was apparent he enjoys run blocking. During the game he had multiple times where he was telling his coach to run the ball from the field.
Massai Ali
-Rb Center Line High School (Center Line, MI) So. class
Massai Ali…… In his game vs. Eastpointe, he touched the ball just eight times for 135 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns as well. His patience was phenomenal. His ball carrying vision matched his patience. He was able to make people miss even without them being in his immediate vision. He didn’t look like he had time throughout the first half where he did a full sprint. Ali started out the game with three straight carries for a touchdown. His play style was very similar to former Steelers running back Le’Von Bell.
Jeremiah Hutson
-Wr/S/Qb Warren Lincoln High School (Warren, MI) Sr. class
Hutson showed what he could do once he gets the ball in his hands. He had five catches for 58 yards. Every time he caught a ball, he found a way to gain some extra yards. He showed the ability to play as an outside receiver, as well as playing from the slot. In the run game he was aggressive in blocking. He showed power in his running style being down to bring down on multiple occasions.
Ryan Abuan
-Wr/Qb/Rb/OLB New Haven High School (New Haven, MI) Jr. class
Abuan plays all skill positions on offense. He took snaps at wide receiver, quarterback, and running back. He seemed most comfortable at running back. He had the lone touchdown for New Haven (10/4). When at quarterback he was able to show off his athleticism, keeping plays alive with his legs. He hurt Warren Lincoln most when being able to scramble around. He made some throws, but mostly picking up yards with his legs. Abuan made a lot of people miss defensively.
Josh Henderson
-Lt/De New Haven High School (New Haven, MI) Jr. class
Henderson’s motor helps him with his game. Defensively he manned the edge fairly well. Playing well in both the run and pass. He did a good job at seeing where the ball was going and shedding his block. He didn’t work one specific move, but instead just understanding when and where to shed the block. Henderson’s first step helped him in the run game. He looked more natural as a defensive end. Offensively at tackle he played average. He had problems controlling blocks at times. He faired decently in pass blocking. He stayed in a two-point stance most of the game on offense.
Jayshawn Lewis
-Rt/De Warren Lincoln High School (Warren, MI) Sr. class
Lewis is an aggressive defensive end. He made multiple tackles on the night, pitching in two TFL’s and two sacks. His motor is extremely high. He used mostly the push-and-pull move mostly. He’s not a very lineman, but he is very effective. He worked and successfully the bull rush move on multiple occasions. He played mostly on top of the left tackle, in a “two-point” stance. His first punch was vicious at points of the game.
