Top 250 camp (rising stars)

O & D line session

Rising stars and Coach Reggie Wynns held a top 250 camp Saturday, December seventh. This camp included kids from all over, featuring the MAC, PSL, OAA, GAC, and more. The camp was broken up into three different “sessions”.

The OL’s and DL’s were up first. Then QB’s, RB’s. TE’s, and LB’s were the second session. Lastly were the QB’s, WR’s, and DB’s. The 1 on 1’s were the final event in all of the sessions. The athletes started out warming up as a group. Next it was all about individual work with broken up groups.

Standout players (first session)

OL: Khalief “KJ” Canty 2026 class OT Cass Tech 6’5 305lbs

Canty played at different spots across the line, he performed at all of them. He stood stout against most rushers being able to do just fine against power, and speed rushers. Looked to have the best day for offensive line.

OL: Travis Robertson 2026 class OT West Bloomfield 6’6 280lbs

Robertson played mostly at the left tackle spot. He defended the outside rush moves very well.

DL: Cameron Burgess 2026 class DT De La Salle 6’3 290lbs

Burgess excelled at bull rushing and using his hands when doing outside moves. One of the best performers on the day for defensive line.

DL/LB: Chase Arnold 2027 class DE Orchard Lake St. Mary 6’1 221lbs

Arnold used the bull rush most, and it was effective. He won a majority of reps on the day. His “get-off” was very impressive. Arnold probably had one of the most productive day on the d-line.

Benson beat most O-lineman inside on the day.

Josh Henderson

-Lt/De New Haven High School (New Haven, MI) Jr. class

Henderson’s motor helps him with his game. Defensively he manned the edge fairly well. Playing well in both the run and pass. He did a good job at seeing where the ball was going and shedding his block. He didn’t work one specific move, but instead just understanding when and where to shed the block. Henderson’s first step helped him in the run game. He looked more natural as a defensive end. Offensively at tackle he played average. He had problems controlling blocks at times. He faired decently in pass blocking. He stayed in a two-point stance most of the game on offense.

Jayshawn Lewis

-Rt/De Warren Lincoln High School (Warren, MI) Sr. class

Lewis is an aggressive defensive end. He made multiple tackles on the night, pitching in two TFL’s and two sacks. His motor is extremely high. He used mostly the push-and-pull move mostly. He’s not a very lineman, but he is very effective. He worked and successfully the bull rush move on multiple occasions. He played mostly on top of the left tackle, in a “two-point” stance. His first punch was vicious at points of the game.

Andrew Whitney

-Rt/De Hazel Park High School (Hazel Park, MI) Sr. class

Whitley played well as the right tackle and defensive end. He looked more natural at defensive end. He showed good athleticism on pulls, being able to get around the corner quickly. Whitley maintained good control on most blocks when pass blocking. He was rarely overpowered while blocking. Defensively he was able to use his size to get off blocks, using the push-and-pull move mostly. Whitley had times where he used his hands well. At right tackle he had times where he struggled to finish blocks. Defensively he struggled with not keeping the edge at points of the game.

De’Anthony Matthew Jr

-De/Rb Clintondale High School (Clinton Township, MI) So. class

Matthews is just a sophomore. He showed a lot of positive attributes throughout the game. He worked the rip move effectively on numerous occasions. He showed his speed chasing down plays from the backside. Matthew understands how to see where the ball is going and shed off his block. At defensive end he had reps on both sides of the line. He finished the game with eight tackles, two tfl’s, and one sack. Offensively he had two carries for 17 yards and a touchdown, on a wildcat play. Matthew has a tendency to play with high pad level which hurt him at times in the run game. The lack of motor took him out of some plays.

De’Anthony Matthew Jr. reps from 9/27.
